The Nature and Mainly Causes of Black Eyes

Black eye, also called as “raccoon eye” because of its special form. However, it is far less lovely than its name. Fast pace of life, large amount of working tasks, both of them bring pressures as heavy as a mountain to us, from which it is quite likely for us to get a pair of raccoon eyes after a sound sleep. To many office men and ladies, raccoon eye is really an unwelcomed but frequent guest. Today, let us get familiar with this unwelcomed guest together.

Basically, black eye is a kind of hyperpigmentation, some of them is given by nature, but most of them are caused by irregular rest. Staying up late for long periods, low sleep quality, unstable emotion, fatigue of eyes, and aging, these are all reasons to bring black eyes. Under these circumstances, the flow rate of venous blood around our eyes will slow down dramatically, and the metabolic wastes in the venous blood will accumulate constantly, it will lead to the absence of oxygen to the red cells around eye, the retention of blood, and form hyperpigmentation finally. As we are growing elder, the fat layer around our eyes will be thinner, as a result, the color of the black eyes will be getting darker.

Though with a starting word of “black”, if watch them carefully, you will find that most of the black eyes are not really black. Generally speaking, black eyes can be divided into: the cyan one, and the dark brown one. The causes of these two kinds of black eyes are really different: the cyan ones are caused by long-term retention of the venous blood, and it usually can be seen among young people about 20 years old, while the dark brown ones are the consequence of the disorder of melanin.
